Visual, Audio and written Storyteller

I'm Shannon, a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities where I am double majoring in journalism and political science. I hope to work in arts and culture reporting after I graduate in December 2022, specifically in music photography and music journalism.

I have worked as an intern at the St. Paul Pioneer Press covering things like City Council, tobacco control, rent control, homelessness, nonprofits, elections and other community events. I have also worked at The Wake Magazine at the University of Minnesota as a freelance writer, the distribution manager for a year and a half, and currently work as the executive director.

I love storytelling in every way. I am currently the culture reporter for the Real College Podcast at Radio K and a cohost and producer for the Listening Show podcast where we interview musicians about their music and an album that inspires their music and personal life.

Music, art and photography have always been huge in my life and it has been a dream of mine to be able to combine them into a fulfilling job. I am a freelance photographer now working in concert photography and portraits.

I want to make the world a better place and I believe that ethical, fair reporting can help get us started to where we need to be.
